The EU HORIZON MSCA Doc­to­ral Net­work ArCHe “Archaeo­lo­gi­cal Coas­tal Heri­ta­ge: Past, pre­sent and future of a hid­den pre­his­to­ric lega­cy” (https://www.arche.uio.no/) announ­ces ten PhD posi­ti­ons in the fields of archaeo­lo­gy, archaeo­bio­lo­gy, bio­lo­gy, social anthro­po­lo­gy, cul­tu­ral heri­ta­ge stu­dies, coas­tal engi­nee­ring, geo­gra­phy and geo­lo­gy. We are offe­ring PhD pro­jects in an inno­va­ti­ve, inter­na­tio­nal, inter­di­sci­pli­na­ry and inter­sec­to­ral Doc­to­ral net­work focus­sing on the lega­cy of anci­ent hun­ter-fisher-gathe­rers across coas­tal are­as of Euro­pe. The­se PhD fel­lows will stu­dy the past mea­ning of this fra­gi­le lega­cy, under­stand its embedded­ness and envi­ron­men­tal thre­ats in pre­sent coas­tal are­as and will explo­re holi­stic ways of sus­tain­ab­ly inte­gra­ting this archaeo­lo­gi­cal heri­ta­ge into lived land­scapes in the future.
